Payload
Over grubs one evening, award-winning director Timo and writer/producer Vivian Syc sat down and conceptualized the story of Amir Osman with mech suits and elemental powers. The working title "Payload" was given and they went straight to work, independently putting the script, storyboard and production crew together.
Pivot to Animation
The global pandemic brought the production industry to a virtual standstill, requiring the creators to rethink their strategy. Instead of giving up on the skeleton of the story, Timo decided to submit the project for grant pitch, specifically eyeing Epic Games Mega Grant, as Unreal Engine was becoming more fluid and adaptable for film making.
The Sentinels: Uprising Gaiden
Following a successful pitch, The Sentinels: Uprising Gaiden started production with animation partners Framemotion Studio and Vmagery Studio. The animation series is fully animated on Unreal Engine and the IP is an Epic Games Mega Grant Recipient.

XZV Studio Opening
Moving forward on the pursuit of having a global IP on the international stage, XZV Studio Sdn Bhd was incorporated April of 2021 to further develop, publish and expand on The Sentinels. The office is headquartered in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
Finas & MD Status
Vying a great opportunity to cement high quality production output in Malaysia, XZV Studio acquired its Finas License and MD Status to further its ambition of creating a global IP to export from within the region. The company further added to its production partners.
Venture into Gaming
Adapting to market changes and scaling accordingly has always been core values at XZV Studio. Seeing an opportunity to repurpose, The Sentinels ventured into gaming with UEFN, having successfully pitched and awarded a grant to develop the franchise into a Fortnite Island.
Export Services
As The Sentinels continue on its production, the founders have set its sight on opening its production services beyond Malaysia. In the fiscal year of 2024, XZV Studio's core revenue came from overseas clients.
