On February 28, we had the opportunity to attend the #ExecuteAWA National Humanity Press Conference at Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus — and for us at XZV Studio, this wasn’t just another event. It felt personal.
A Room Full of Purpose

As the team behind “Kappa”, our upcoming animated feature that explores autism awareness and animal welfare, we’ve always believed that storytelling should do more than entertain. It should say something. It should stand for something. And being in a room filled with people actively pushing for change in the animal welfare space reminded us exactly why “Kappa” exists in the first place.
The conference brought together NGOs, advocates, and policymakers from across Malaysia, all aligned under a shared goal: building a more humane, accountable, and science-driven approach to animal welfare. But beyond the discussions and announcements, what stood out most was the energy in the room — people who care deeply, who have been fighting this fight for years, and who are now coming together in a more unified way.
As creators, we spend a lot of time building worlds and telling stories. But events like this are a reminder that the real world — the one outside the screen — is where those stories matter most.
A Shared Direction

“Kappa” has always been rooted in advocacy. It’s about seeing the world differently, about empathy, and about the connection between people and animals. Sitting in that space, surrounded by individuals and organizations working toward the same values, felt like a quiet but powerful alignment of purpose.
We’re proud to have been part of this moment, and even more motivated to keep pushing “Kappa” forward — not just as a film, but as a story that contributes to a larger conversation.
